Women who qualify can purchase a Habitat home with an affordable mortgage after completing sweat equity hours and homeownership education classes. The Housing Authority of Baltimore City administers public housing units and Housing Choice Vouchers (Section 8) for low-income women and families in Baltimore City. The CASH Campaign of Maryland provides free financial coaching, free tax preparation through VITA sites, and financial empowerment programs for low-income women and families. Services include help building credit, opening bank accounts, and applying for the Earned Income Tax Credit.
